Building off the last brick wall painting that I did, I wanted to make another one which would be a close up of Dale abbey. I wanted to add more textures to my next brick wall painting so I ended up getting some wall filler and mixing with water until it formed a thick paste. Then I applied two layers of wall filler to my canvas to form a rough texture.
After applying the filler I realised that it didn't look like the structure of a brick wall. However, I still carried on and added oil paint over the filler as I wanted to see how the wall filler would look with paint over it. This how it turned out:
The final result is on the right, this didn't turn out the way that I wanted it to because it didn't end up resembling a brick wall. However, I'm glad that I got to experiment with textures using wall filler. I will be using this technique again to redo this painting again.
